Farid and Mohammad. We started Kare to build Sakani our home search web app focused on the emerging Jeddah Saudi Arabia market. We’re about two things professionalism and that personal touch. We dig quality high quality in almost everything we do. We love effectiveness efficiency and working on the right things to get results. THE POSITION
And we’re at the point where we’re ready to grow our development team. So far Mohammad our CTO has been a oneman dev team and it’s time for us to scale up. We need a serverside web developer to help us transition from our PHP beta app to a Ruby on Rails scaling and maintenanceready app. You’ll be working with and reporting to Mohammad to do the app rebuild learning our business domain as you go along. You’ll be expected to eventually be our primary serverside developer so we’re looking at you chief.
YOU ARE
A ninja a kungfu master a serverside wizard level 50. You have at least one or two modern programming languages under your belt and you want to learn more. Specifically
You have at least 2 years experience in MVC serverside web development
You unit test your code
You love to write clean modular wellarchitected DRY code
You’re hungry for knowledge keep up with the state of the art in web architecture patterns technologies and trends
You have fun with your work tackle problems headon and don’t let things pile up
You’re open speak your mind aren’t afraid to say “No” and able to give and take and reach consensus with a team
You put the team and the company first
You can handle a large workload while maintaining your health and balance
You speak PHP
You’re versed in Ruby and Ruby on Rails or willing to learn them
You’re familiar with HTML CSS and JavaScript or willing to learn them
Ideally you live in Jeddah Saudi Arabia or Cairo Egypt if you live in Saudi you have your own iqama worked out and are OK working as a freelancer
You’re OK with working remotely if you don’t live in Jeddah.
