Reporting line Press and Public Information Officer Accountable to Head of Mission and Deputy Head of Mission

Main tasks
To advise on and develop the more technical aspects of the Missions press and public information activities with a particular emphasis on developing and managing the Mission website and social media
To advise in the development of a Mission media strategy with a particular emphasis on advising on issues that may affect its image Coordinate with the different departments
To develop Mission corporate image and to look after corporate image needs and the visual identity of the mission closely linked to the overall EUEEASCSDP identity
To update Press and Public Information contacts and mailing lists
To support the coordination with the different departments in the Mission and look after media and public information needs
To support hosting of delegations press conferences and other public events
To do media monitoring of the Palestinian Israeli and Arab media with a particular emphasis on security and justice related issues as well as of the media coverage of Mission activities
To prepare the development and implementation of the PPIO budget and procurement procedures
Perform graphic designing of some public information material Posters Newsletter and Billboard
Support the organisation of Mission public outreach and internal activities
To manage the mission promotional items
Respect others and value diversity
Continuously develop knowledge learning skill and practice
Perform other duties as required by Press and Public Information Officer and act as a backup of the other staff members of Press and Public Information office.

Qualifications and Experience
University degree minimum 3 years full time studies in Journalism CommunicationsMedia Public Information or other relevant filed.  An equivalent relevant professional experience of 6 years after successful completion of secondary education in lieu of the required university degree may be considered
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
Experience in website management is desirable
Solid work ethics punctuality commitment to quality careful attention to detail ability to perform under stress willingness to work flexible hours good multitasking and organisational skills
Ability to stick to strict deadlines
Ability to work under minimum supervision
Proven work experience within a multicultural environment desirable
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Modern Standard Arabic
Excellent writing and communications skills together with experience in crosscultural communication
A working knowledge and understanding of Hebrew would be an asset
Computer literacy including word processing software and internet
